Dr. Alan Mortimer, Director of Centre for Vaccine Evaluation (CVE), previously known as Center for Biologics Research (CBR) of Health Canada, visited National Institutes for Food and Drug Control of the People’s Republic of China, previously known as National Institute for the Control of Pharmaceutical & Biological Products (NICPBP) from September 25, 2010 to September 28, 2010. After many years of successful cooperation, both CVE and NICPBP recognize that the cooperation is important for the quality control of biological products and both sides benefit from previous joint research. The parties reached a consensus on extending the cooperation to more areas, thus developed a MOU.

    On September 12, 2016, NIFDC of China and Health Canada's Biologics and Genetic Therapies Directorate (BGTD) updated a MOU, marked a new stage in the cooperation between NIFDC and BGTD in the field of biological product quality standard research
